The AVR is a Modified Harvard architecture 8-bit RISC single chip microcontroller (µC) which was developed by Atmel in 1996. The AVR was one of the first microcontroller families to use on-chip flash memory for program storage, as opposed to One-Time Programmable ROM, EPROM, or EEPROM used by other microcontrollers at the time.

Hacking I-Sobot Robot Toy

August 1st, 2009

Looking for a way to hack an ISobot humanoid robot (see it on YouTube in action, under $99.00 on Ebay) so I can make it move and do the things I want. The unit has 17 servo motors, sound player and a bunch of sensors. Someone has suggest I get an Ardweno embedded kit for doing these types of hacks. I will investigate further into what this Arduinos/Adrino/Audrino/Ardrino (or whatever) kit is and what it can do.

Anyone know more about this kind of kit?
